San Francisco diary 5: star sparkling poverty

Method seems to be as quite nice working place for designers and coders once you stop smelling that litter perfume they have there. Apparently it is quite famous company, once you work in design market. They did a lot of things that we all have seen at some point (interface of netflix, google cloud, HBO thing that I cannot remember what it was).
They have three offices (London, New york, San Francisco). Non of the office has more than 50 employees (they believe in magic in number, I believe it is nonsense and they just want to keep it nice and cozy - kudos!).
When you go through their offices, you'll figure out, that they have all kind of games there and that pets are allowed. Which explain the cat litter smell. I was hoping that I'll see cat, but no. Doggo came. Whatever, SF still has cat coffee.
After hour visit at Method there was free time. Now, we've been in SF for 5 days at that time and we went to every possible thing there was. So I was bored, cause there was nothing else to do. I decided to randomly wondering through the streets of San Francisco hoping, that something will happen. I even walk through the "more dangerous neighborhood". And nothing except people greet me on the street and more homeless around.
Btw that homeless thing here is seriously terrible. There are signs all over the city that says "don't help homeless". Like you can spoil someone with five bucks... What was most terrifying for me, was probably the fact that no one from here cared about it. Sure they get to be rude sometimes, and they smell but all the locals did was just step over them, not look at them and continue. Sure you cannot save every beggar, and they keep saying, that this is failure of the government, but they elected them and then somehow stop caring about them. I guess I'm just spoiled by Denmark liberal policy, when this is bothering me so much.
Anyway, after this I decided to go back to the hostel, and wait till design night there, where we were supposed to go. Well it was rainy as hell so we decided to "uber do not walk to the design night!" And it was worth it. We didn't look like we just took a bath.
Design night was in Autodesk gallery, which we visited the day before. Apparently it was really fancy party with all the famous designers from San Francisco. Honestly I think that we appreciate more the fact that we get free food and drinks there. Also we could some workshops that were there available. Like doing our own candy (that was my favorite, lots of people tried to do the arrow heads from stone that was there. Nice but not eatable). Another great thing that was there was the talk from one of the best astrologist from NASA. That was my favorite more or less because after five days here I had feeling like I have heart everything about design and really wanted to hear something at least slightly different. So here I go with all the stars and what we came from.
After that the party continued. But honestly if you are not good with mingling, the only thing that stayed interesting was drinks and food. And we were not hungry and was supposed to be sharp next day, so bye fancy party, it is sleepy time. or uber time!
