San Francisco diary 4: car and nature

For quite a long time we were wondering on how to explore this tiny part of US and whether we should rent a car or uber driver. Well renting car totally payed of. In one day we have been in Twin peaks, Muir woods, different peak that I cannot remember the name, west coast and randomly driving through the fancy neighborhoods.

It is not like we had day without companies, we just had generally only one and so we decided to discover little bit more. First stop Twin peaks. I've heart about it only from some TV series that I have never seen. Apparently it is one of the highest point in San Francisco. Which is kind of unbelievable considering that every single street in San Francisco has some kind of peak and you go either down the hill or up the hill. But this one was really huge and I'm glad that we had car otherwise it would took us the whole day to get there.

The view was amazing, you can see the city on one side, the bridge on the other side, tons of houses, every skyscraper look so small. I still have no idea about what can the series could be, maybe the view, who knows? Anyway, we spent there about one hour. Not because the view was that great but because boys wanted to have nice hipsterish photos of them selves, while we were really hungry at that time.

And that was also reason why we came late to the Autodesk gallery. first of all it is not easy to park car in city like San Francisco, cause who knows where will be enough place for that? Second of all, Autodesk had actually two places, one gallery, second the offices. And since so far we have been visiting mostly the offices, we thought that "yey we will visit office again". But no. Gallery. It was actually really cool cause there was all kind of invention and really interesting things that we could try ourselves.

But the tour was actually short so we jumped back to the car, get snacks, get parking ticket (for no reason, we payed) and continued to Muir woods. Yesterday I realized how much I missed hockey, ths time I realized how much I missed forest and nature, I haven't experienced that much since I moved to Denmark. And I don't mind hiking, so we did hike the hill just to see an ocean.

It felt really Lord of ringsy, not just because of the nature, but also because Janis, one of our schoolmate, spent 6 months in Norway so he was used to hiking. And he was kind of like Legolas of our little group. of course we had normal people, me and Rudolf who just walked and not really complain and than there was Marianne, who answered "hmgdf" on my question: Are you ok?

But we did it. Saw the trees that was hundreds years old, get all sweaty, saw the ocean, and finally get down. At that point it was too late to return the car so we decided just to hit the random destination and see what we can get out of it. So we went to the other peak where other photographs probably get those pictures with the bridge and the city and not like in Twin peaks where you cannot have both. And I honestly think that those people must have freeze their asses cause it is unbelievably windy and cold especially if you decide to wait there for sunset. We didn't we hide our selves in car, took few pictures and then runaway to the west coast.

Which was probably my favorite place. I could listen to the wave hitting the cliff for ours and it wont be enough. At that time, we all were really tired except for "legolas" of our group who kept running around and dragging us behind him. But this was the final place after that we just drive around the city, singing songs in the car, wondering how much this fun will cost us. Best day so far.
